Avoiding Mechanical Errors

If you have prepared properly, don't blow it now by making careless mistakes. Avoiding the "dumb mistakes" begins with reading the entire question. Misreading the question or not understanding some words can be fatal to your final score.

At the top of your paper print the letters, "RTFQ." This is an important reminder to you to Read the Full Question. Make sure you see and understand every word in the question. Read it once. Read it twice. Make sure you understand what the question is asking before you even think about answering it. For example, if the question is asking you to explain the difference between an apple and a banana and you proceed to write about fruit salad, you didn't understand the question and made a careless mistake.
