Online Education and Campus Learning

In 1953 Westwood College was founded in Denver, Colorado. Previously the school was known as Denver Institute of Technology, and offered a variety of technical diploma and degree programs. Since then, Westwood College's offerings have expanded by leveraging its proven approach of career-focused education to reach a wider group of students. Degree programs are offered in Business, Computer & Information Technology, Design, Criminal Justice, Industrial Services, and Healthcare. Today, Westwood schools include 17 campuses across Southern California; Atlanta, Georgia; Arlington/Annandale, Virginia; Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas and Houston, Texas. We also offer Online education through Westwood College Online (offered through Westwood College - Denver North).

A Board of Trustees governs Westwood College, Inc. (Westwood). The Board is responsible for oversight of Westwood College's growth as a higher education institution. Board duties include overseeing the College's institutional purpose, mission, and academic quality.

Westwood College is accredited by national accrediting agencies, including the highly regarded national accreditation of Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology, or Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools depending on the campus. Westwood is licensed to award college degrees in every state in which it operates a campus.

To meet the ever changing needs of our students, Westwood College expanded its offerings to include a complete online only curriculum in 2002. Today, there are over 4,000 students enrolled in 17 online degree programs, ranging from Criminal Justice to Business Administration to Game Art & Design. Our online classes provide an interactive, hands-on learning approach that utilizes some of the latest multimedia technologies available, offering a rich, online learning experience.
